With the enactment of the Technical University Act 2016 (Act 922), the University Statute (Statute 40) established IRID as a five (5) center institute consisting of 

1. Center for Social Science Research – CSSR
2. Centre for Competency-Based Learning and Development (CCBLD)
3. Centre for Research, Development and Technology Incubation (CRDTI)
4. Centre for Business Development and Consultancy Services (CBDCS)
5. Centre for Technology Transfer and Skills Development (CTTSD).

Each center is headed by a Head of Center (HoC)
