E-Tech Seminar

CRDTI held an impactful seminar on Emergent Technologies at the SRC Conference room, which successfully engaged over 100 engineering students. The seminar aimed to expose students to a diverse array of cutting-edge technologies, including Arduino, 3D printing, robotics, and drones, among others. These technologies represent significant advancements in various engineering fields, offering students a glimpse into the future of innovation and practical applications.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests. Professor Gabriel Dwomo, the Vice Chancellor of KsTU, provided an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the importance of staying abreast with technological advancements in an increasingly digital world. Professor Smart Sarpong, the Director of IRID, highlighted the critical role that emergent technologies play in driving research and development. Both Professor Dwomo and Professor Sarpong encouraged the students to cultivate a deeper interest in these technologies. They emphasized the importance of taking full advantage of the resources and opportunities provided, urging students to explore, experiment, and innovate. Dr. Patricia Darko, Deputy Director of IRID, also shared valuable insights on integrating these technologies into academic curricula and research projects. In addition to these prominent figures, several other university staff members were present, showing strong institutional support for the initiative.

The seminar included interactive sessions where students could engage with the technologies hands-on. Demonstrations of Arduino projects showcased how simple hardware can be used to create complex systems, while the 3D printing segment illustrated the potential for rapid prototyping and manufacturing. The robotics and drones presentations captivated the audience, demonstrating real-world applications from automated systems to aerial surveillance and delivery services.

The seminar was a resounding success, leaving students inspired and motivated to delve deeper into emergent technologies. It underscored the commitment of CRDTI and the university to fostering an environment of innovation and learning, preparing students to become future leaders in the field of engineering.
