Significance of the Centre
CCBL&D plays a crucial role in supporting Kumasi Technical University to attain its strategic goals, vision and mission.
- Enhancing quality Facilitation Methods - The Centre provides support for staff and students at the University by organizing orientation and sensitization workshops academic faculties to enhance effective delivery of teaching and learning.
- Generating Revenue - The Centre has potential to significantly contribute to internal generation funds through the conduct of the voucher projects, short courses and consultancy services, etc.
- Facilitating Industry Collaboration - The Centre serves as a bridge between the University and industry i.e. Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), civil society institutions, regulatory bodies and business organizations in the collection of occupational standards for curricula design and Trade Associations for Apprenticeship and Mastercraft-men training programmers. The Centre has forged collaboration with partners for grants, capacity building, training, joint projects, etc.
- Supporting Sustainable Development - The Centre supports the University to significantly contribute to local and international efforts at achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
- Shaping public policy- The Centre seeks to engage in research to influence public policy. It therefore finds it relevant to embark on demand-driven research, which are more targeted to the needs of private and public agencies for growth and development.
- Organising ICAST – CCBL&D plays an instrumental role in the planning and execution of International Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAST) through its technical support. This meaningfully contributes to enhancing the University's reputation, and ranking.
